Who I am, and what I'm doing currently...

Hello, my name is Amris. I graduated in May 2024 with my B.F.A, and have just been working and spending time with my family. I have a three year old son, so I do try and soak up all of the time I can with him. But, I am hoping to continue my journey for my Master's in Fine Arts, in Studio Art/ Photography. For now I'm working on more photographs and projects. I have so many ideas, it's exciting to be able to create what I can, when I can! I truly believe there is no better rush of excitement than when the work is speaking to me, and to continue going. I'm so lucky to have such love for such a beautiful medium, and the opportunity to explore it. In this section, I've uploaded photographs/projects that I've recently been working on at home.

(Above) Still leaning into the concept behind my project Scraps, creating such art with items that were not seen of any value, I quite literally took these items from a dumpster (safely), and brought them home, giving them their spotlight.

(Below) This next set of photographs were taken of items that I broke off of a printer my parents were about to throw away. I couldn't find a screwdriver to fit the screws that allowed the big layers of the printer to come apart, so I broke off little pieces, (it's all I could at the time), and photographed them. A little frustrated that I didn't know how to make these photos relate, I thought about what I could make them look like, could I use them to make something that looks like something else? Then of course something looked like a little mustache, so then I thought of my son, and figured maybe I can at least make some cute photos for him.
